So why does Chris rock? (Sorry, couldn't resist..hehe!) Well, I could start with the part that brought us into each other's company in the first place...role playing :) Chris has a great imagination and he brings it to life in the characters he creates when he plays. They are deep, engaging, complex characters....sort of like Chris himself :)
Over the course of time, I got to know Chris on a more personal level as we became friends. He has a wicked..and yes, sometimes twisted....sense of humor that has more than once brought me to the brink of personal peril while he has been a passenger in my car. He has literally made me laugh so hard that I could not keep my eyes open...and that's pretty hard :) To go along with his wit, he has a great mind...it's always a great pleasure to sit and talk with Chris about almost anything. He is well-spoken, well-written, and well-read...this makes him great company :)
Chris is also extremely compassionate to those who are having hard times. This usually comes from a knowledge of hard times oneself...and I know that Chris has had those, as we all have. I have seen his deep concern and caring for other people on many occasions.
Chris is a person of deep feelings...and as someone who also feels things deeply, I know this can be both a burden and a gift. I have learned in some small way that allowing feelings to live and breathe is to increase their value as a gift and lighten their weight as a burden...and I wish that same insight for Chris, just as I wish him much personal success and happiness in his life.

Okay....so now I am the proud owner of a blog...gods help me!
I must admit, I have in the past thought about the idea of blogging...and dismissed it quickly, thinking, "When in the world will I have time to blog??" Considering that most of the actual free time I have is after the end of the school day and before I leave for the commute home, one would think this would be the perfect time for blogging: reflection on the day's educational highlights and frustrations, reports of the previous evening's activities, a preview of tomorrow. However...one would be wrong, thanks to the district firewall :)
So, no blog for me.
Until about a fortnight ago...when my dear pal Kev catches me online and reports that he will be, for all intents and purposes, locked in a gulag of work and school for the next segment of time. He goes on to suggest that, if I do not already have one, I should procure an account at LiveJournal so that I can keep track of him and his antics via HIS blog. As I have no desire to lose track of him, I hie to LiveJournal, complete the obligatory fields, and become the owner of a blog.
I have dutifully visited Kev's blog to see how things are going with him...workwise, schoolwise, and most especially, healthwise. He's totally correct about being able to keep up with him in this way, and I'm delighted.
Until last night.
I receive an email from Kev...and think, "Uh-oh...what's this about??"
I open said email and find a message from Kev, which essentially says, "Uh...you have a blog...why is there nothing in it?! Get thee to LiveJournal and writeth!!"
It's terrible when someone whom you know strictly via IMs and emails knows how well you respond to guilt....
thus, this posting :)
I hope you've enjoyed it, Kev....you're the only one reading it!
